Cheek and chin implant surgery is typically performed under general anesthesia. During your consultation, Dr. Alessi will ask what your ideal results are so that an implant with the correct size and shape can be ordered. And if desired, a custom facial implant can be designed and fabricated.
For cheek implants, an incision will be made inside the mouth or around the lower eyelid so that any post-surgical marks are not visible. For chin implants, an incision may also be made inside the mouth or underneath the chin. A pocket will be made for the implant. Next, the implant will be inserted and adjusted so that it is in the correct position. The incision will then be sutured shut.
